April 8th 2024: Council election staff came to the group to discuss the different ways to vote and went through reasonable adjustments that can be offered at polling stations.

April 15th 2024: A Public Health and Personalised Care Manager came to talk to the group about the new learning disability HOPE programme. HOPE stands for Helping Overcome Problems Effectively.

April 29th 2024: The group came up with a list of reasonable adjustments people can ask for when having a review. We hope that the list will be shared at meet and greets with social care staff when it has been to the Learning Disability Partnership Board.

May 13th 2024: An Engagement Officer from Living Options Devon asked the group if they would like to take part in a recruitment film for the Devon Partnership Trust. Group members were also asked their thoughts on how to recruit new people to join the Devon Learning Disability Partnership Group and Health and Social Care Group.

June 10th 2024: Democratic Services Officers spoke to the group about how to vote in the general election. A Communication and Engagement Co-ordinator from the RD&E updated the group on how their comments helped shape the new Patient Communication Policy.

July 1st 2024: The Jargon Busters Co-production Group will meet to start planning their new project. They hope to produce a film to encourage more people with learning disabilities to join the Devon Learning Disability Partnership Group.

September 9th 2024: The Jargon Busters met to choose between two different film presentations based on their ideas to help recruit more people with learning disabilities to join the Partnership Board.

September 30th 2024: The Jargon Busters will meet to approve a film script and decide who would like to record which speaking part.

October 21st 2024: The group met with a NHS Divisional Director and a Health Records Supervisor to learn more about the My Care app. The app helps people manage their NHS appointments and read appointments summaries, letters and test results.

October 28th 2024: Sadly a Senior Nurse from the Exeter Vaccination Centre had to pull out of this meeting as she was needed for a clinic. Instead the group planned questions for the council’s Deputy Director of Adult Commissioning and Health as she is coming to the next Learning Disability Partnership Board. They also decided who would like to have their voices recorded for the Jargon Busters film.

November 4th 2024: The group had a talk from the ECOE Advice Team on how to keep warm and well this winter. The input explored the effects of damp and mould on people’s health and support the energy team can offer.

December 2nd 2024: Members of Jargon Busters recorded their lines for the short film they are making to recruit more people with learning disabilities to the Learning Disability Partnership Board.

January 13th 2025: A Learning Disabilities and Vulnerabilities Specialist from the Ambulance Service is coming to talk to the group about her role.

January 27th 2025: A Project Manager is coming to the Jargon Busters Co-production Group to introduce their new project.

February 3rd 2025: A Professional Lead Nurse and a Together and Carer Lead from DPT are coming to talk to the group about the Trust’s new Together Strategy.

February 17th 2025:A Community Services Manager and a Practice Lead are coming back to the group to give an update on their workflow project.
